The WAPOTEC®SYSTEM – easy to use

The WAPOTEC®SYSTEM (HydroSan®/HydroXan®) is probably the most well-known product innovations offered by the WAPOTEC®Group. It was honored at the EUREKA inventor fair in Brussels (among other awards).

The technology is used in swimming pool and spa water treatment processes and builds upon the minimum treatment (sand filtration – chlorination), which is the worldwide basis of water treatment. The process can be integrated with most types of filters and currently applied pool water treatment processes.

HydroSan®

HydroSan® (a proprietary flocculant) used in combination with WAPO®Floc (a coagulant) allows to filter pollutants out of the water. Pollutants (submicron contaminants) are consuming the active chlorine residual and will form undesirable by-products of chlorine. These reductants therefore have to be removed as quickly and effectively as possible.

With the use of HydroSan® together with an adequate treatment technique optimisation of the flocculation filtration is obtained (dual-effect). That brings a reduction of the organic substances (= haloform formers!) in the pool water. This elimination of organics reduces impurities (the THM forming potential) substantially - in many cases to a minimum.

HydroXan®

Optimized flocculation and additional strong oxidation with HydroXan® allows to combat the causes and allows to increase the quality for bathers without having to modify the water technology. Reductant removal is an important part in minimizing the formation of DBPs such as chloramines and trihalomethanes.

Using HydroXan® and chlorine, there is neither a chlorine reduction by forming chlorine nitrogen compounds (combined chlorine) nor a formation of haloforms in the pool water which appeared unpleasantly in the air (especially of an indoor swimming pool) in the past.
