Introducing ClearAmine®: Real-time Trichloramine Monitoring

Indoor swimming pools face a long-standing challenge: trichloramine. This volatile compound, formed by reactions between chlorine-based disinfectants and organic substances like sweat or skin residues, is responsible for unpleasant odours, eye and respiratory irritation, corrosion, and potential health risks for swimmers and staff.
To address this issue, AQUS GmbH has developed ClearAmine®, the first real-time surrogate monitoring system for trichloramine.
ClearAmine® continuously measures several environmental parameters — including relative humidity, air and water temperature, CO₂ concentration, and atmospheric pressure — and combines them with operational data through a proprietary, patent-pending algorithm.
The result is a calculated surrogate value that reliably reflects the expected trichloramine concentration in real time, displayed in a clear, user-friendly web app.
Facility operators can set individual threshold values, receive automatic alerts, and take timely corrective actions, whether by adjusting water chemistry, ventilation, or other operational settings.
With ClearAmine®, invisible risks become measurable insights, ensuring comfort, safety, and efficiency in modern aquatic facilities.
